Million-Dollar Markets

10 cities set to break seven figures

#62

WELCOME

Need an ice breaker to get the conversation going at the Thanksgiving table next week? Here’s a fun fact to share: Wild turkeys can run up to 25 mph and fly at speeds of up to 55 mph. That means in the average residential neighborhood, flying turkeys are breaking the speed limit.

In all seriousness, as Thanksgiving approaches, we want to take a moment to say thank you for being a part of this thriving community. Your support, curiosity, comments, and passion for real estate continually inspire us to deliver the best edu-tainment content in the industry, week after week.

MARKETS

From Affordable to Affluent

A new affordability projection by Realtor.com revealed that a few surprising cities in the West and Midwest could join the million-dollar market club between now and 2033. In these areas, home prices are already climbing, thanks to proximity to high-cost metros and rising buyer demand. Based on price growth data gathered over the past five years, accounting for anomalies like the recession and pandemic, there’s a strong chance they’ll break the seven-figure ceiling within the next decade.

Take a look at the 10 popular metros on track to become million-dollar markets, including their current median sale price and predicted median sale price in 2033:

  1. Boise City, ID: $464,578 → $1.2M

  2. Salt Lake City, UT: $493,414 → $1.1M

  3. Portland, OR: $501,245 → $1.1M

  4. Colorado Springs, CO: $454,673 → $1.0M

  5. Stockton, CA: $579,292 → $1.4M

  6. Denver, CO: $547,966 → $1.3M

  7. Sacramento, CA: $557,522 → $1.1M

  8. Boston, MA: $622,902 → $1.0M

  9. Honolulu, HI: $683,086 → $1.1M

  10. Seattle, WA: $694,351 → $1.5M
